The songs that she writes, on the other hand, are much darker but wrapped in a warm, rich texture of strings, guitars and a drop of electronica that make the medicine go sweetly down. ILLAY sings in Hebrew, English and French in the genre of oriental-indie-pop.
“Sabotage”, her debut album was Created in the heart of Tel Aviv in an apartment turned into a studio within only a month's time. It is full of ethereal and soulful lyrics set to rhythms that embrace pop music, Middle-Eastern disco, West African beats, and much more.

Imagine the deep, resonant voice of the cello—now transformed, expanded, and layered through the magic of effects and looping. "Elements" is a one-of-a-kind sonic experience, drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.Through original compositions, my performance merges tradition and technology, weaving an immersive soundscape where every note echoes the forces of nature. With a plugged-in cello, multi-effects, and live looping, I create evolving musical landscapes that invite the audience to connect—not just with the music, but with each other and with something greater than themselves.In a world that often feels fragmented, "Elements" is an experience of unity, presence, and deep listening. It’s not just a concert—it’s a moment of immersion, where sound dissolves barriers between people and the natural world.
